<p>The reasons for smoking are mostly psychological. People get involved in tobacco smoking due to the emancipation of smoking in the movies and in advertisements. Addiction to nicotine makes it hard to quit smoking once a person has started, but this addiction can be overcome in two weeks once the psychological reasons for smoking are eliminated.</p>

<p>The other method could be to stretch the time of misery but reduce the degree of suffering by quitting gradually. During the time that a person is reducing tobacco use, one has to ensure that he or she keeps themselves occupied with some healthy alternative or other to keep the mind busy and distracted.</p>
<p>Using nicotine patches, gums, or lozenges is another substitute for smoking cigarettes or using tobacco .The patches work slowly over many hours, whereas gum and lozenges act immediately and enable a person to control the dosage, as needed. These products have the advantage of immediately eliminating the harmful smoke from tobacco, but they do not get rid of your addiction to nicotine unless there is a strong will power to give up on smoking by the smoker.</p>
<p>To quit smoking cigarettes or using tobacco, one has to have a strong drive from within oneself to completely come out of the habit and live a healthy life. This feeling of quitting smoking is a very vital and it has to be nurtured to its very last.</p>
